How Could I Let This Happen?

This is a poem, or whatever it is, that I wrote directed towards my best friend. I haven't mentioned any of this to him, and to be honest I don't know if I ever will. It's not my plan to ghost him. But imagine, out of nowhere, reading a confession and a goodbye from your best friend. Despite reality coming for my soul by realizing I'm in love with someone I can't have, I still don't want to lose him, and the thought of one day having to say goodbye breaks my heart. This one's for all the loners that ever felt something for someone that doesn't feel the same way.
