One hundred and thirty years after the Shinsengumi's eradication of the rasetsu, Kodo's research lives on and falls into the hands of a curious genealogist. She continues his research and creates the modern-day Water of Life, and a new breed of supersoldier is born. Murdered for her discoveries, our scientist leaves behind her daughter, Elena, who is now thrust into the middle of a deadly power struggle over her mother's research.
