Dylan Rose is as toxic and abusive as he is handsome and charming. Worst of all, everyone knows it. Lex Oarsman especially knows it.

With such a bright future ahead and troubled past at his heels, many give Dylan chance after chance to redeem himself. His on-again/off-again girlfriend, Mariah Preston, is proof of this and it angers Lex to no end.

Lex and Mariah didn't exactly stop being friends because of Dylan, but it's obvious his recklessness and unhealthy nature didn't help. However, Lex respects Mariah enough not to cause any problems and keeps his distance.

The couple attends a state college miles away while Lex takes community courses online. Why should he be caught up in their business anyway?

Then one night at a campus party Dylan goes too far. Even Mariah has had enough. The police are called. Though charges are dropped, Dylan Rose is ultimately kicked out of college.

Out of desperation, he returns to his small home town and begs Lex for help. Kenneth Rose, Dylan's step-brother, also comes to his aid.

Now Lex finds himself begrudgingly working with Kenneth to save Dylan from himself, reconnect with the recovering Mariah, and balance his own life and goals in the process.

It's enough to make anyone scream.
