{on Hiatus until "What Makes a Hero" and "What Makes a Villain" are complete. While this can be read as a standalone, I'm realizing there are some minor spoilers to those books I don't want to give out to all readers just yet}
In a family full of Pro Heroes, it is only expected to be the very best. Raiden Yamamoto knows this better than anyone, but he is still struggling in figuring out what he wants and what is best for him. That changes when his dad proposes something Raiden never would imagine.
Instead of facing his father, he decides to take a job on the other side of the world, working alongside a Pro Hero with a very interesting way of seeing things. But when a threat starts endangering the girl he holds close to his heart, will he be able to make the right choice, or one that will just end up hurting everyone around him?
Huge thank you to @Juni_Penguin_ for creating the stunning cover you see here.
Huge thank you to @sun_jin_ for creating the gorgeous banners you will see inside.
This book can be read alone with little to no knowledge of the previous books. Chronologically wise, it should be the fourth book in the series, following I'm No Hero, What Makes a Hero, and What Makes a Villain (the latter two are being written and updated as well).
This book does take place before the BNHA series as it showcases what I think the first class of U.A. would be. Not everything will line up to the series because of this, but it is BNHA fanfiction
Warning: Book does contain cursing, scenes of anxiety, violence, and other dark themes that may not be suitable for all audiences.
Deku got tired of hiding all of his emotions under a mask. Tired of keeping a smile on his face despite being constantly beaten up and ridiculed. He'd kept his mask up for so long that it was fragile as glass. The day it broke was a tragic one for his old "friend" and mother, but became a beautiful opportunity for him. The villains saved him. The villains were his family. The villains helped him put on a different mask. He was getting back at all the people who'd ridiculed him... or was he?
I'll try to put trigger warnings on specific chapters, but here are some general triggers that will be in most/all of them: strong language(mainly just cussing), attempted suicide/suicide mention, depressed thoughts/actions
Cover art: credit to BlueWolfArtista on deviantart! I will eventually try to make my own cover, but for now I'm using his. If you know that he doesn't want me to use his art, message/comment it and I will gladly take it down. I don't want to have it there if he's uncomfortable with it.
