The year is 1993.
Heroin addict Layne Staley of Seattle rock band Alice In Chains has just had the fear of God put into him following a bandmate's overdose.
When faced with a simple decision, the butterfly effect comes into play, hurtling Layne into a timeline where events in his life occur as follows: first, Layne moves up the date for his wedding to longtime fiancée Demri Lara Parrott; second, Demri reveals that she's pregnant; third, Layne realizes that he has some confusing, conflicting feelings for his bandmate and best friend, Jerry Cantrell.

Now Layne must choose between the love of his life, Demri, and Jerry, the man he just can't seem to get out of his head.

Reserved and private, Jon is rocked with a glitter bomb of queer affection when he collides with former crush, Kurt. Jon's an introvert. Kurt's an extrovert. Jon's never had a boyfriend. Kurt's hooked up a hundred times. Jon's devoutly Christian. Kurt said 'f*ck you' to the whole charade of religion that left him hurting and homeless years ago. Kurt's out, rocking his queer identity loud and proud onstage. Jon is...well, it's complicated. He thought he'd made peace with his sexuality, but his role caring for children in a Christian not-for-profit group home doesn't permit him to have a gay relationship. Jon's so stretched carrying full-time school and full-time work, he needs his housemate and best friend, Cary, to remind him to eat. Where would he even find the room for a six-foot tall, fabulously queer boyfriend? When Kurt shows up on Jon's doorstep, hungover and more fragile than he appeared under the spotlights, something has to give. Tentatively rekindling their romance in the nitty-gritty of their adult lives, Jon and Kurt have everything to lose and everything to gain if they take the risk to hold each other close. ☆Featured on the Wattpad @FreetheLGBT and @NA reading lists!☆ Straight/Gay/Bisexual/Trans/Demisexual/Ace. Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley of Alice in Chains are best friends and did everything together, from playing practical jokes on each other to endangering their lives with every drug known to man. After Layne's fiance, Demri, passes away, Layne finds a way out of the hole when he realizes the consequences of his actions. He is able to pick himself up and continue his love and passion for singing. Jerry is not so lucky. He's so far down in the hole that he gives up playing guitar and withdraws from everything and everybody, except for the needles. Despite his isolation, his friends never leave him, especially Olivia, the love of his life. Olivia and Layne love Jerry, but it gets harder and harder to be at his side when he wants to be left alone. He's no longer funny and witty. He's not just sad; he's depressed. He's not just angry, he's explosive. Those close to him only have so much strength before they'll have to carry on without him.
