Her father cared for her immensely, that she knew. However, why had she always been a disappointment? Why had she made mistakes to disgrace him? Daleena knew not answers to these questions, which lingering stench engulfed her being with dire need, need with which she proclaimed, "I will no longer be a disgrace to you father!" 
A few seconds had passed between them before her father sighed and reassured her, "I care for you deeply my child." 
The warmth that encompassed Daleena as she heard these words was better than all the jewels and treasures that the earth would ever hold.
