Worst still, the only person you love is missing, lost in this hostile world. This is a bleak portrait of a dis-United Kingdom where North is fighting South, and the rest of the world has been turned upside down. Inspired by a dream (nightmare?) my father had when I was young, I started writing this story years ago and discovered it again recently, determined to finish it. Along with this chaos, Ryan is trying to deal with the stress of Ramona becoming distant due to her past reappearing, and the new rules and regulations making his career walk on a tightrope. The national anthem may say otherwise, but the United States is no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. Not with the new government.
