All Ren wants is freedom. Freedom from The Maw, the ruthless criminal world that shaped him. Freedom from the ever-present Gallowshade enforcers, who patrol Aeterra's endless roads. And most of all-freedom from the past that won't stop clawing at his mind. But first, he needs a train ticket. When the Gallows track him down in his home, his infamous grandfather gives him two orders: reclaim their stolen family blade and get to Ishari Lagoon-fast. Only problem? The only train heading there is under the control of a corrupt noble, who rules the town with an iron grip. With no choice but to fight back, Ren finds himself caught in a battle for control-alongside a ragtag guild with their own vendettas. To take the train, they have to take the town.
