Catherine Shaw was the girl people avoided. She didn't smell, she didn't walk around talking to pigeons and no, she hasn't killed anyone. She's just...weird. Weird in the way that usually prompted parents to pull their children in the opposite direction in the store. Weird in the way people crossed the street to avoid her, all the while giving her this look of confusion.
She didn't mind. She liked being alone. She always found peace being her own person and being able to walk through the dark without a parent or a friend worrying about her.
Until the night she was walking through the streets, mouthing along to the songs in her head when she witnessed something weird. Weirder than her, anyway. She thought she could go home and forget it but oh no, she couldn't.
Because what she had witnessed wasn't human. What she had seen, with her beautiful cat-like eyes, put her in the middle of a war that only she could stop.
