The battle has ended and kids are returning to Hogwarts changed, with a different view on the world. While some decide it's best to not come back, others, such as Draco Malfoy, miss the school they once felt was like the home they never had. New American professors come to fill the places of those lost in battle, bringing alongside their children. Emily is unaware of the events that have occurred at Hogwarts, but will soon come to find the truth, and will be conflicted with her emotions.

A year after the war, Hogwarts has been rebuilt and the students have returned, including a temporary 'eighth year' class to make up from the time lost during the war. Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy have both returned, though neither is exactly the same after the events of the war. Harry has turned away from his Golden Boy exterior, no longer caring what others think and for the first time, doing what he wants. Draco just wants to move past the events of the war, to get this last year of school over with so he can move on with his life.
