Just nights before Halloween 2020 in Haddonfield, Illinois, Michael Myers escapes from the hands of law enforcement while in the middle of his prison sentencing. After 25 years of killing several dozens of people and staying in hiding, Michael is captured. For 17 years he is kept in restraints, until he eventually breaks free from the police while transporting him back to Smithsgrove. penitentiary only to go missing again. In order to pursue him, the Haddonfield Police chief counts on an old friend of his whom is the only living victim of Myers' heinous acts of violence well known as Laurie Strode. After meeting with her traumatic support group following the news of the Boogeyman escaping , Laurie meets a younger female by the name of Trish Jarvis who shares a mutual struggle of getting over a night of murders. As Trish explains that her relentless attacker was thought to have been dead but still roams the area known as Crystal Lake around New Jersey, Laurie plans to attract Michael's attention to the lake as bait for his killer equal known as Jason in order to end her nightmare for good.
