"Hey, Auden."
Auden turned, startled. "Oh. Hey."
"Do you, um, want to walk with me?" I asked.
He hesitated.
"It's just around campus a few times, not all of Edmonton. And I promise I won't make you dance to the song I'm listening to." I flashed him a small smile, which he returned.
"Okay," he said, and fell into step beside me.
With nothing but the moon guiding us, Auden and I started a ritual that took place every night, revealing things about ourselves that we found we couldn't reveal to our closest friends or family.
The story of a girl who's never been able to fit in, a shy boy with problems no one seems to be able to solve, and how, by having walks in the moonlight, they form a bond stronger than what either of them could have ever imagined.
