Manila, 2026. The city of Manila that used to be the most populous part of the country has become a sea because of the mysterious endless rain that started four years ago. 27-year old Mayor Melo hires the service of 14-year old girl named Mashi, a rain whisperer. Mashi tells Melo that he has to sacrifice his first love to stop the rain, but he doesn't have any. Determined to be reelected, Melo will date Mashi to fall in love for the first time. Soulmates are connected through invisible red strings, but what if it needs to be sacrificed to save a drowning city? This is not a work of fiction. This is a work of possibilities. Manila is a cup for rain. Save Sierra Madre or make Manila a part of the sea. The Eternal Rain in Manila is a novel by Klarenz Quiogue and Lémiros Pielago.

This story is about a young boy named Isandro in a broken, futuristic Manila. He has a unique power: he can control people's emotions. Imagine if he could make a scared crowd brave, or a hateful crowd calm. This power makes him special, and he tries to use it to fight the corrupt leaders who are making the country worse. The central idea is that he's supposed to be the hero, the one who brings change. But the big question we're exploring is: will he really save the Philippines, or will his power, or the fight itself, just make things even more complicated and possibly worse? It's a story about hope, power, and the dark side of trying to fix a broken world.
