Elijah Kinston. He just so happens to stumble upon Spade, at a party. Sure, it's overrated. And so what? Spade is just another bad boy who seems cool and acts like a douche bag. But Elijah takes an interest in Spade when he sees what's below the partying, cold mask. He decides to offer Spade a job working for his family. After all, Spade should be afraid of him.
