The world is a unique place. We have werewolves, witches, necromancers(rare people), elves, fairies, catgirls, cyborgs you name it, we have it. Here there is magic but, we rarely use it nowadays, "why?" you may ask, well it's simple, we have advanced technology. Technology that could respawn you when you die! Although only workspaces have those sadly.

"Why did we create such things?" well, it's because of a parasite called "Impostor". An Impostor is a parasite researchers were studying until it got loose and started taking over people's bodies. The only way to get rid of them was to kill the host, but there were too many people dying, so they had to think of a way to fix that, and they did! We call it "The Anchor", it just needs a cup of necromancer's blood and, it's all set. We don't use "The Anchor" if the person dies naturally.

The Impostors hide out in buildings that aren't used at night i.e, offices, cafes, etc. They will infect randomly and will not do any tasks because most of these tasks could reveal that they're an Impostor. This is how we're getting rid of the Impostors we call this operation "Among Us"

"And if I fail?" I asked my handler. "We'll find someone else to replace you. But I don't think you'll fail. I've got several bets that are placed on you winning." I gulped. "Why?" "Everyone loves an underdog. Just don't blow my money. Kill that crew." I swallowed and forced my words out. "Yessir." Without a doubt, 3718's life was miserable. From birth, their entire life was geared towards becoming something to be used for another purpose. They were a part of a game in where they and another Impostor competed to kill off a crew for entertainment. Whoever killed the least amount of crewmates by the end was flatlined. Along with that, there was also the fact that 3718 had to worry about getting ejected and dying that way as well. Try and resist and you got shot. Get caught and you were ejected. Survive and you live with the knowledge that you ruined uncountable lives. In a race against time, against your own, what'll happen when 3718 gets a chance to escape it all? TRIGGER WARNING: death, blood, violence, heavy depression and anxiety, suicidal thoughts This book contains characters that are part of the Lgbtq+ community, in particular genderqueer characters, an ace-spec character, and a polyamorous relationship. Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258! Eighty thousand years into the future, Earth is no more. This world is now called Lokar-a realm of strangeness, where humans struggle to survive alongside elves, orcs, goblins, vampires, merfolk, and dragons. Born from the genetic-engineering science of our present age, these species now fight to rule a world of sword and sorcery, war and blood. But Lokar's story is more than this. In orbit, the Sky People dwell-a breakaway civilization from humanity's forgotten past. Mythical and unseen, save for the drifting lights of their stations in the night sky, their name is whispered in reverence and fear. To most, they are only a legend. Until the sky falls. When a steel ship crashes onto Lokar, myth becomes reality. From the wreckage emerges Morse, a girl named with fire-orange eyes, bearing secrets as ancient as Lokar itself. Drawn by adventure, a young Lokari named Jason must join forces with this enigmatic fire-eyed girl to uncover the mysteries of their intertwined pasts and face a destiny neither could have imagined. The fate of Lokar and the stars hangs by a thread. As the veil between legend and history tears away, a truth long buried will rise to shape a future yet unwritten. These secrets have been whispered for millennia. Now, Lokar must listen. ------- Note: I publish a chapter 3 times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I also do all of my own art, which you can see in each chapter. If you'd like to see more art, especially the stuff I can't publish here (*wink wink*), you can find that on my Patreon. I believe in world-building and rich characters. I also believe in big ideas. There is a bit of steamy interaction between the characters, but it's not the main focus!
