Neida Birch is not like the other citizens of New World. She is the weilder of strange powers that mean she is alienated from people who are 'normal'. Ripped from her bed in the middle of the night she is taken before the deputy head of the Society, the government that has been elected to rule the population. Saved from a fate unknown to her by a strange boy with an even stranger story, Neida is forced to rethink her entire view of the world. As things previously unclear begin to make sense, Neida has to make a choice. Whose side will she choose? When there's no where to hide and no one to trust, sometimes your only friend is yourself.
