"They hurt me" she says in the smallest voice, it's barely a whisper but I heard it, and that's all I need "Make sure you take all the ones she pointed at and get the other ones somewhere safe, is that okay with you mi Alma?" She nods her head. I reach for her hand and this time she doesn't flinch or jerk away, in fact she puts her tiny hand in my much larger one. I pull her close to me start walking with her under my arm.
I walk out and see some of my men waiting and before they can get a look at the beautiful girl I have with me I decide to get this out of the way "Listen, and listen carefully, look at her and you'll get a bullet between your eyes, understood ?" A bunch of "yes sir" can be heard all around. Once I reach my car I open the door and settle her in my front seat, she reluctantly lets go of me and it warms me knowing she feels safe and she doesn't want to let go. I quickly go around and settle on the drivers side. I turn on my car and start driving away from this place. "Will they suffer?" She suddenly asks, I don't want her to be afraid of me but I also don't want to lie to her so I answer truthfully with a simple "Yes" she looks out the window for a few seconds and turns back around to look at me "Good" is all she says before she falls asleep.
