"Hey Katniss," he says. I don't answer, and after awhile he tries to get my attention again. "I don't have any answers so if there's a reason you started hating me, could you please tell me why?"

I look over at him, "Why do you think I hate you?"

"Well, considering you stopped talking to me out of the blue, I had to assume so." He says.

I stopped hanging out with you because I didn't see you as a friend anymore and that scared me. I want to say, but of course I don't.



Katniss and Peeta are beloved characters who can be used in millions of stories. Read about their journey through high school, and rebuilding their friendship that Katniss let go to waste, in fear of her feelings for him that were stronger than friendship.
