Cold air clawed at my face as tears cascaded down my cheeks. I buried my face into his now torn and blood-stained leather jacket, inhaling the familiar musky scent that could only belong to him. In spite of my inner-turmoil, I didn't question why I was on the back of the motorcycle, it felt more right than anything. He tilted his head to the side. "So why are you so pissed that I kissed you". "Well", I responded in exasperation, "You must really despise me. Why just before our untimely death?It's obvious that this is a sad attempt at getting some last minute action".
He shook his head as a toothy grin replaced his serious features. "You're wrong. I never believed that the thought of another being could make my very soul tingle with such pleasure. It's as if I've been asleep
for the last few months and have now just woken up. And if there's one thing I'm good at Love, possibly the only thing, is protecting you".
