He is being condemned for the crimes he committed against the galaxy when he called himself Kylo Ren; Rey is going with him because she was the one to defend him in his trial. Together, they are sent to a remote forest/mountain planet for five years with minimal contact from friends/family at the end of each year. During their exile, Rey and Ben will learn many things, not just about each other, but also about the true nature of the Force, and of themselves. And maybe, they will discover that something even deeper and more powerful than a Force Bond is keeping them together (no, they are not related).

I normally write about the Captain Swan ship or dabble in a little Harry Potter, I've thought about this before, and now have some inspiration. After watching The Force Awakens, I thought Kylo Ren and Rey would either end up being related or it would be a star-crossed lovers kind of thing.
