After saving millions of lives in a Ba Sing Se terrorist explosion, avatar Korra tragically passed away in battle. During this time of grief the question remained "was there a next avatar?". For the public eyes there was. In times of instability and in the age of media, the White Lotus created a new "avatar", a young boy from Gao Ling . Far away in secluded desert stretches, the new avatar was indeed born. Born to Sand Benders, and hasn't been discovered to the world. Atleast for now. With two avatars and a new world to protect after Korra, Genji has quite the legacy.

The Legend Reborn is a story I wrote in late 2014 about the Avatar after Korra. After the release of the Legend of Korra follow up comics I went back and added references to the events of the comics but didn't change my story. Following the 2021 announcement of Avatar Studios I decided to share my ideas since it's very possible Bryke could decide to continue the Avatar Cycle and render my story implausible. I hope they instead decide to go backwards (possibly a Kyoshi series) since there are also many other great fan projects that would be rendered implausible by a Korra sequel (notably The Legend of Genji, a project very different from my own but has my respect and admiration). But who am I to disagree with what Mike and Bryan do with their own fantastic universe. Hope you all enjoy the story. 😊 Disclaimer: I do not own or have any rights to Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, or any other content (present or future) from this universe. See, if I was to introduce myself in a Japanese or another Asian styled world by my English name....that would be weird.... so I pick a name that I figure fits. Today my name is Amaya. Why? Well, I liked it. And I guess it fits. The name means "Night Rain", and it fits because well, I woke up in the middle of a forest in the middle of the night....and it was raining. Funny how that works huh? Also, I'm a waterbender. Neat right? I guess. But I digress. I should really get to the story right? Well, like I said, it was a rainy night, and I was cold, lost and alone....
