As an orphan, Emma Johnson never exactly believed in miracles or magic of any kind. Or even the proclaimed superheroes everyone loved. That all changed the fateful night when she was mugged and attacked. At that point in her life, she had come to the conclusion that she wouldn't amount to much, and as she lied half-conscious on the ground, she couldn't help but think that she deserved this kind of death. She didn't want it, but it seemed appropriate to someone with nothing to call her own. Then in swoops in her own personal superman, saving her and taking her back to his place where she wakes up the next day. She makes a friend called Dick Grayson and after a while he starts to make the things the Joker and Harley put into her head go away and she sort of changes and realises she doesn't actually want to be the Jester anymore. She finally tells Joker and Harley she doesn't want to be the bad guy anymore but they don't accept it and try to kill her. She's then saved by the league but when she wakes up Joker is gone and left a broadcast announcing that Jade was the Joker, the one thing she feared most of becoming and it breaks her making her loose what's left of her sanity. Nearly two years later she finds out that Dick didn't die and that he was under a new name, Nightwing. But will his return be enough to reverse her being the Joker or will she still stay insane?

This Villain...believes that both sides of good and evil are all after the same thing, to win and rule over the other. So being the shadow between the two forces, he plans on taking them both down, to put an end to the eternal conflict. His love for Veirin, the desire of continuing with his plans and solving the mysteries of the protagonist, eventually makes his emotions conflict with each other. After the Villain is defeated, Veirin is no longer bound by chains that keep her emotions from growing. Once she gains freedom from the burden that held her down for a decade or so, she eventually changes her mind about not picking a side. Her emotions begin to grow and she starts to let it surface, despite them feeling strange to her since she's not used to it; love grows and her horizon expands...
