But the nightmare doesn't end when the creature releases her. The real horror begins when she realizes it never truly let go. With her body forever changed and something unnatural growing inside her, she fights to reclaim her sanity before the thing inside her takes over completely. Vi, desperate to save her sister, embarks on a dangerous path through the ruins of forgotten experiments and the whispers of beings that should not exist. Unfortunately, some of those answers might lie in a mind as unique as it is dangerously flawed. The Xykeree, past enemies of humanity, should never have been allowed to dock at her home port. And they're just the start of her problems. Throw in a hereditary neurological illness and a secret society of soldiers genetically tailored for psionic combat and she has herself a whole new level of trouble ... the kind that could destroy her personal foundations and imperil billions of lives.
