***INTRODUCTION***
This chapter examines the rational basis of the morality of the human actions.The norms of morality are the criteria of judgement about the sorts of person we ought to be and the sorts of actions we ought to perform.

***SUMMARY***
A norm is a standard of measurements, we make a value of judgement when we measure the quality of a thing.The moral qualities of human acts is measured with the use of the norm or standard to support a judgement.

Moral judgement is based on "NORMS OF MORALITY"
1.The ETERNAL LAW or "ULTIMATE NORM"
2.The NATURAL LAW or "REMOTE NORM"
3.The CONSCIENCE or "PROXIMATE NORM"

-the NATURAL LAW has 4 characteristics:
1.It is universal 
2.It is obligatory 
3.It is recognizable
 4.It is immutable & unchangeable
-there are 5 TYPES of CONSCIENCE:
1.correct conscience
 2.erronious conscience
3.doubtful conscience
4.scrupulous conscience
5.lax conscience
