My name is Valerie Black and Sirius Black is my father, but I don't remember him. You see, he was taken away when I was three and locked up in Azkaban. I have relatives that could have taken me in, including a cousin whom I despise, but instead I was given to someone else for custody. My father had ensured in his will that I would be kept safe by stating that custody should be given to his good friend James Potter. But...James died, so instead I was given to his other friend, Remus Lupin.
