I was raised to follow rules.
To speak softly. Sit straight. Smile only when appropriate.
My life was a checklist of rights and wrongs - carefully drawn lines I was never meant to cross.

College was supposed to be the same - predictable, measured, safe. Until he walked in.

Mivaan Malhotra.
He was everything I wasn't allowed to be - loud without words, careless in ways that felt deliberate, and impossible to ignore even when I tried.

It started with glances - the kind that last too long, like gravity catching you mid-breath. Then came the moments that shouldn't have meant anything... but did.

Maybe it was curiosity. Maybe rebellion. Maybe the way he saw through every version of me I'd been told to be.

All I know is - the closer he got, the harder it became to remember who I was before him.

And maybe that's the most dangerous part.
Because the things we're warned to stay away from aren't always the ones that break us.
Sometimes, they're the only ones that make us feel alive.

She gasped, her palm landing on my chest for balance, but I didn't care. "Look in my eyes and say it, Sanvi." My voice was low, breaking at the edges. "Look at me and say every fucking moment meant nothing. That you never loved me." Her lips parted, her eyes trembling with unshed tears. She hesitated. Then-her gaze turned cold. "I never loved you, Akshat," she whispered. Silence. Her words fell between us like shattered glass- small, sharp, impossible to ignore. My chest tightened. My ears buzzed. She doesn't mean it. She can't mean it. "I liked you, but not anymore. It was just infatuation." The final nail in the coffin. I dragged in a breath, but it never reached my lungs. Taking two cups in my hand. The moment I turned around I clash with something, well to be correct on Someone. But before I can fall, a strong hand got wrapped around me, making me steady. Coming back to my senses my gaze falls on his white shirt which is now daubed with coffee. "Holyshit" I swear, and he gave me the death look. "Sorry" I apologize "For what? For swearing so freely or for making my day great by pouring on coffee." "For both, sorry, I can help you with a shirt or buy you a cup of coffee?" "No need, just walk with your open eyes. That would be a lot better." ~ AAYAN KASHAYAP. The first grandson, the eldest brother, the eldest son of the family. If you asked anyone, they'd say my brother and I were close the kind of siblings who knew each other's moods before a word was even spoken. We weren't perfect, but we had our system. Five rules. That's how we survived growing up together. Rule 1: Never lie to each other. Rule 2: Always have each other's backs. Rule 3: Ask before borrowing anything. Rule 4: Don't embarrass each other in front of friends. Rule 5: Never.... ever....date each other's best friend. And for the longest time, those rules worked. They kept us balanced. Until he came along. Ethan. My brother's best friend. The boy with the calm eyes and the smile that could turn a bad day around. He'd been around for years, but I'd never really seen him. Not like this. I don't know when things changed. Maybe it was the way he started listening when I talked, or how he laughed a little differently when it was just us. Maybe it was the way my heart forgot all five rules whenever he looked at me. My name's Elena, by the way. I'm the one who was supposed to know better ... the one who swore she'd never cross that line. But the thing about rules is... they only work until something OR someone makes you want to break them. And the night everything changed, it wasn't supposed to mean anything. Just a conversation. Just a moment. Except now, I can't stop thinking about it. About him. About the one rule I can't seem to keep. My brother doesn't know. Not yet. But when he does... everything will change.

Love Misunderstood

29 parts Complete Mature

I only ever met one man I'd call truly noble. He was a man who was misunderstood and worthy of the world, yet everyone saw him differently. That was until I saw his true colours. The more I caught his eye the more he noticed me. We would pass each other, I would always stare a little longer at his back, wondering his story. People used to move out of the hallways if they saw him approaching whereas people would come and talk to me. He kept to himself, I was never alone, he had no friends, I was friends with everyone, I never saw him talk to anyone I spoke to many. we were polar opposites. At least that's what I thought until that day in the library, that is where I will start this story. Everyone is different, I hate the word "different", I much prefer the word unique. Unique is the only way to describe him. This is not just a story about love, it is about helping two souls who act differently but are the same on the inside, it shows the messy parts that aren't shown in movies, the tragedy, and the comedy but most of all the sizzling romance between two broken people who became one. Who is this story about? Caden James. But this is not just his story, It is ours.
