France, 1807. A pair of siblings comes to visit a picturesque village in Provence.
____________________________________________________________________

One bat squirmed again.

Clara immediately saw that this one was way bigger in comparison to the other bats she could now see clearly in the booth. She put her focus on this biggest bat among them all and for some reason tried to spot and look in the creature's eyes, even though it was also covering itself in wings.

One final step.

The bat suddenly straightened its wings and with eyes wide open looked directly in hers. They were surprisingly big for such a little creature and astonishingly blue as deep ice. She could feel the chills coming down her spine, instantly exploding in her stomach. The look that bat gave to her own eyes felt like meeting an old friend she never met before... like it had always known her and waited for her to finally show up.

Quiet 'Ah...' didn't get the chance to leave her mouth.

"THE AFTERLIFE CAN BE A REAL BITCH, RIGHT?" "Henri-" I began, but Henri's hand snatched up mine and squeezed tightly enough to break bones. I bit my tongue to hold back a cry. It was a warning. "Maria didn't say anything about a couple of vampires wanting to meet with her," the green-haired warlock spoke after the area had stilled with electrified silence. I looked Henri's way, and that's really when our situation caught up with me. Wait... "Maria..." I murmured in remembrance, then sent Henri a glare. "Why are we here to see Maria Day? If you don't remember, let me remind you that I killed her friend. Hell, her master. She'll kill me when she sees me." Henri had the nerve to laugh softly. "You're already dead, Antoinette." "Thanks to you. There are other ways witches can hurt vampires, aren't there?" My eyes traveled shortly to the warlocks, Daniel and Zachary, and I shook my head. "She'll burn me alive! I'm not going in there." "You're overacting," Henri said with a dramatic eye roll with a worth of a slap across his face. Lucky for him, I kept my hands at my sides. This night was about to get dangerous... This is Book 3 of The Hunters Saga! 1st draft, so there WILL be mistakes! Doesn't even seem like that long. I'm done with high school. I am now 20 years old, living the rest of my life as a blind person. It isn't easy. Anyways, I stay with a close friend mine. She takes care and looks after me. I also have another close friend. A friend named Charley. Charley Brewster. He's a few years younger than me. A high school student. He lives across the street from me two houses down. I've known him for years now. He has a girlfriend. He often checks on me to see how I'm doing, keep me company, or if I need help with anything. I consider him a good friend. We often talk to each other on the phone late at night before he goes to sleep for school in the morning. I get lonely when he's gone. One night, I stop by Charley's residence. I've had word from Mrs. Brewster, his mother, that a new neighbor was visiting for the evening at their home. She invited me over, and I obliged. Then I met a man. A strange man. I felt something off about this stranger. Something... Abnormal... Then Charley claims that he is a vampire. I didn't know whether or not I should believe him. Eventually, I did. He warned me to stay away from him at all costs. That I did. Overtime, this 'vampire' stranger got too attached to me over the next few days. As if he had already known me. I tried my best to avoid him, but the man kept bothering me. He didn't leave me alone... However, one night, quickly turned into Hell...

His irises swirled slowly, an enticing pale silver against his stark black lashes. They illuminated slightly, so quick it was gone in a blink. He broke our eye contact, lifting his head straight. A darkly amused expression appeared. It happened so quickly it seemed like a mask appeared. I blinked myself out of my trance, and turned on my heel to see what was at the receiving end of his humor. Augustus stood there. His face contorted into anger as he took in my ruined dress. His hands shook in his fury. "Roman." Augustus nearly snarled the name. "Have you come to join us, little King? The party was just getting started." So his name was Roman, some big secret. I rolled my eyes at the reveal as well as his taunting sentence. "Davina, what is going on here?" Augustus asked, his eyes full of betrayal. I had never seen him so guarded. I could feel his anger through my bones. His words were careful. What was he talking about? My brows furrowed at the insinuation, "What?" A line of smoke floated around my right shoulder and come between Augustus and I. How convenient. I had the desire to swipe it away but didn't. "What can I say, she...seduced me." Roman purred. His voice was a sensual whisper in my left ear. I subconsciously lifted my shoulder and backed away from it. Not only because he had lost his fucking mind, but also because it shot down my spine, caressing my skin. ** This book contains mature content. WARNING: SEQUEL TO Blinding Darkness!!!!! By: Momentz_Night (ME!) I now know why my mother would sacrifice herself for me all those years ago. . .it was because her love for me was so strong that her own life meant nothing to her if it came to my own. Despite the fact that I was really her niece - due to the fact that her twin sister and brother-in-law, my biological mother and father, dropped me off at her and her family's doorstep when I was not even a week old - she cared for me. The man and woman I considered my father and mother, Walter and Helen, took me in with their own children, my three big brothers. So as I stand on the same cliff she took her own life at - and the person who wanted me for my pure blood genes - I stare into the eyes of a soulless monster. A being that has no heart, and the monster wants something from me that I cannot give without a fight; my precious child. I place myself between my loved ones and the Alpha King, ready to fight till death if I have to. And so it begins. . . . ********* Elizabeth is now separated from her pack and beloved mate, Vincent, and is trying to protect those she loves by finally destroying the Alpha King forever. But as her child is born she finds out something shocking beyond anything she ever knew and that shock changes to fear as she realizes that she must never let that something happen. You want to know what that something is? You want to know what happens? Well keep reading and find out. (I recommend reading Blinding Darkness first or else you'll be confused.)
