In Genesis, Noah's Arc was the savior of every animal. In Rivermont, Raine, or Ark as her older brother Noah calls her, is the opposite.
Life in Rivermont, a town that has slowly been abandoned after its resources were mined out, is anything but exciting. With one exception. The town has a secret that the world doesn't know about: a small percentage of the population have superpowers. It is unclear why people get their powers on a biological level, but it has to do with surviving a traumatic event.
Raine is a high schooler that lives in the small town, going about her life as one does, until a tragic accident occurs. When her parents are killed in a car crash, she becomes an orphan, getting taken care of by her older brother Noah.
She visits the mall, and discovers she has the most powerful ability known. Imitation.
After going through her parents old items, she finds out their deaths were planned. She embarks on a journey of discovery as she tries to figure out who murdered her parents, joined by her brother and best friends.
A criminal mastermind makes a bold move against a wealthy client to put himself in a position to retire in comfort. He has no idea what he's up against when a young widow, desperate to make ends meet, sets her eyes on earning the bounty set on his head.
