We, as humans, believe that the future holds great things; it doesn’t. Keezhekoni Spenken lives in the worst of the worst. The government turns a blind eye to most of the happenings in Vav, Keezhekoni’s town. Murders, robberies, kidnappings. All of the awful things you can think of. All throughout the country, Nosaes, the residents develop a tattoo sort of marking somewhere on their body. Each of them have a specific meaning, a sort of look into the future. If one wants to know what their tattoo means, they’ll consult the Tarahcle. Their tattoo is null and void if the person so happens to leave Nosaes. This, however, is very tricky and dangerous… and also punishable by death. Kellen, Keezhekoni’s longtime friend, and Teague, Keezhekoni’s brother, have quite a predicament.
