Briar Haverford knows nothing of the Red Order or the search for the next element mages. What he does know is that he was gifted with magic upon birth and his father has spent seventeen years attempting to beat it out of him. His only friend, perhaps more than that, is Endy. Briar's tenuous grip on what seems to be a double-life is shattered when the Red Order arrives at his village, seeking to purge the next generation of mages at the source.

Outed in more ways than one and forced to flee the only place he's ever known, Briar sets off through the wilds of Kelleran in hopes of fitting a new life for himself and mending his nearly-broken soul. But the Red Order is not easily swayed when in pursuit of something powerful, and Briar is unmatched in his talents with the Earth.

Finnegan Shephard is a shifter, one of Kelleran's most unpredictable races, though the most fiercely loyal. Reeling from betrayal and heartache, Finn sees in Briar something the Fae mage hasn't been able to see in himself - a second chance, and a glimmer of something much, much larger than the pair of them.

As the Red Order continues to gather power, and the Kelleran High Council scrambles to find the new element mages before full-scale war breaks out, Briar and Finn struggle to come to terms with not only where they've come from, but where they're going.

And, more importantly, convincing one spirit-weary Fae he just may be the Terrathela when it's the last thing he wants to claim.

*****COMPLETE-- Book three in the Wild Magic Series. Sequel to By the Light of the Moon and The Dark of the Sun, but can be read as a stand-alone. The Shade of the Earth is a M/M, May/December, gay-for-you romance with fated mates, knotting, and a bobcat shifter with a small stature and big spunk.***** Robert has been surrounded by men attracted and romantically involved with other men for most of his life. He accepts his friends, defends them, loves them... but has never really understood them and their attraction to other men. Now, a diminutive bobcat shifter, with all the spunk of his feline counterparts, nameless and without a family or home, has claimed him as his mate, refuses to leave his side, and somehow forces him to see sex and attraction in a whole new light. But just as things are beginning to fall into place for Robert and his Sami, will they have everything ripped away by a dark figure from Robert's past? ************************************************ "I'm confused, Sami. This is... a lot. I've never been attracted to a man. I like women- I don't like men! Please understand, all of this is a lot for me." "I'm not men," the shifter whispered, a single tear dripping across his temple and back into his curly, ragged hair. "I'm your Sami." The words had the breath in my lungs freezing painfully. I stared down into his simple, open face, and had a sudden, near-violent realization. Sami ran on pure, feral instinct. This didn't make him stupid, it didn't make him simple of mind. It made his desires and thought process easy and pure. He wanted me, I was denying him. He couldn't understand any other reason for me to do this other than his own inadequacies. He didn't understand the laws of attraction as humans saw them. He saw only that I was his mate. And I was denying him.

"What are you doing?" She asked and her voice sounded rather small even to her. She had asked him how to help him. This wasn't what she was expecting and being flush against him she could easily tell just how aroused he was. She didn't think she'd done anything to evoke that kind of response. Clearly she had and there was a kind of rumble she could just barely hear coming from him. He turned her and took a step forward which trapped her between him and the glass there. His mouth grazed hers and she thought that he was going to kiss her but didn't. He couldn't be any more flush against her if he tried and she wasn't sure if she should try and move away or not. Actually a part of her didn't really mind and was rather excited by what he did. Was doing, and she definitely felt a rush through her and her stomach clenched when she felt his teeth scrap against her throat. His hands dropped to the hem of her shirt and rather swiftly shoved it upward as his hands slid over her sides and she shivered for a moment. She should tell him to stop, but she knew he wouldn't listen. Ragnarok is the end of all. The three siblings Fenrir, Hel, and Jormungandr will destroy the nine realms. Once Fenrir is freed when Jormungandr shakes the worlds. It would break open the tomb holding Fenrir and then even the gods would be devoured. But what happens if Fenrir's tomb is opened by a mortal instead? What happens when the siblings of Ragnarok are shown a different choice other then what fate had decreed? Some times it's not about saving the world, just saving one soul that can change the fate of all the rest. How do you stop a god that doesn't care and wants to destroy? Especially when a group of assassins were on their way to exterminate me simply for just existing. Kidnapped from my bed by three extremely stunning and grumpy Alphas, and forced to attend a special Shifter University located in the middle of nowhere, I have to navigate an unfamiliar and unknown secreted world while simultaneously trying avoiding those who want to use my lineage to enact an age-old curse. Join Nova Nyx as she's dragged into a world full of Shifters, Secrets, and Startling Surprises. ~~~ "Mates?" I repeated owlishly, blinking rapidly at the one worded bomb they just dropped on me "What are Mates?" Instead of answering my question, they just stared back at me in silence, arms crossed over their broad chests. I ignored their silence, choosing to focus on second part of their sentence. "And you're telling me I have three of them?" I gawked "How many are you supposed to get? I can barely handle myself and my life at this point and you want me to worry about three other people?" Of course the most annoying man I've ever met smirked at my bafflement. "I don't think it'll be such a hardship for you" he said, arrogance lacing his tone "After all, I hear these three Mates of yours are very self-sufficient." "Don't forget extremely gorgeous" his Buffon of a friend chimed in, winking at me "That's a plus for you Princess." "One," the third one growled out at me, finally speaking up and adding subsistence to the conversation, startling the banter from the other two "You're only supposed to be blessed with one Mate in your entire lifetime."
