In the land of Afrana, where the enticing elves are slaves, Gerard Way begs his gods for help, for a better life, for himself and his kind.

seventeen year old Gerard hates his life, the King and the humans he rules. They're all monsters, he knows, monsters that want nothing but to destroy him and those like him with pointed ears and long forgotten smiles.

But when Frank Iero, the young Prince returns from a yearlong journey, Gerard finds kindness unfamiliar to him. Behind him, the dangerous face of change seems to creep too, and suddenly he isn't sure of what's happening anymore.

He's homeschooled as well, which means he only ever leaves to get groceries. For how little he leaves the house, and how closed off he is, it's quite a wonder how he met Frank. Frank is an extrovert and he kind of lacks boundaries when it comes to making friends. He's curious and speaks his mind constantly, which sometimes gets him into trouble. It must be good for something though, because not many people bother to figure out Gerard. Frank is a newcomer in a quiet, sleepy town, trying to escape his past. It's dull and boring until the arrival of a newcomer that could be the making or breaking of him. Gerard has demons of his own and is shipped off to his Uncle's place in the ass end of nowhere to sort himself out. He can't imagine anything worse until he stumbles upon a punk kid who seems to have secrets of his own. Frank is determined to keep himself to himself, but Gerard is an annoying, nosy, pain in the ass, who, for some reason, Frank can't seem to get enough of. Will he eventually let Gerard into his life, and will it be all plain sailing for the two if he does? You don't notice what is happening in their personal life. Frank Iero is a victim of this. He bases his final judgements on just how people look. Though, he has a realisation. When he falls deeply in love with the school's literal demon. Gerard Way. Even though he acts tough and strong on the outside, he has a medical problem that could possibly kill him. No one knows except his divorced mother and his brother. So when he spills his heart out to Frank, he just hopes that he'll take it the right way.
