Previously, in the first book, Jabari and Amari went to a house welcoming party with their friends from high school. A blackout from spiked, alcoholic drinks led these characters to awake in an abandoned house full of death traps and a masked killer with a strong motive for revenge. Jabari and Amari were the only known characters to survive. The masked killer is back! After the first encounter, Jabari awakes inside a hospital with his close friend, Amari by his side. Just before the two are able to leave the hospital, the masked killer makes an appearance causing the entire hospital to be placed under lockdown. Now, these two must survive the dangerous encounter once again. Only this time, there's plenty of ways to escape if they are willing to break a few rules.

Book 1, First Generation Gianna Kingsley only came back to the rundown southside neighborhood for a funeral. The man who'd raised her had passed, and she didn't hesitate to leave the office after hearing that news. When she arrived, however, she was forced to conspire with old ghosts to keep Kingsley Cove and her relatives safe from a ruthless drug lord; King. When she meets him face to face, everything changes. Does Gianna have the courage to take down King and save her elderly relatives? Can she resist the feelings she develops for him? - "You don't want no parts of this," he growled, staring down at me while still standing on the porch. "Kamari is my friend-" He was quick on the draw again, aiming his gun straight at my head. My relatives gasped, and even I thought he was going to end me then and there. Okay, maybe I had mouthed off a little too much. Alright, I definitely had. - ratings: bwbm; #1 on 6/23/2020 & #2 on 6/2/2022 blackfiction; #1 on 5/9/2020 & 3/2/2021 kingsley; #2 on 8/25/2020 & 6/2/2022 blackqueen; #2 on 6/29/2020 & #1 on 9/14/2023 gangviolence: #2 on 8/19/2022 - BOOK TWO: "Kayla's Keys"
