He had died on the 5th, and she hadn't even known he was gone, because he had disappeared a couple of days before saying he needed to clear his head. He wanted her to stay with him, because he felt that she was too emotionally unstable to be on her own with her child. He wanted to protect them and make them feel better, even though his health was declining, and the band seemed to be failing.
