Shay knows how to survive. Her father left when she was little, her house was a mess, she had no friends, but most of all, she fought for her life. One of the best fighters in the local fight club, Shay is known as Viper, fighting for a living. She thought she could face anything that came in her way. That is until she came home and her mother was engaged to a strange man named Vincent. Now, she has swept away from her home town, her fight partners, and her title, moving to the big city. Now, Shay had to create a new title in a sexist fight club, deal with her new step-dad, and figure out what she's going to do with her life. But life isn't perfect, and Shay knows that very well. Life turns down a strange path after she meets the heart-throb king of the club, Marcus, and gets mixed into the wrong business. Soon, things change so fast, Shay has to decide if this is random, or destiny.

Shay Warner ran away from her adopted family as soon as she found out what they truly were: criminals. They lied, they killed, they betrayed her in a way that scarred her forever. It isn't until the police catch up to her that she's forced to go back, putting her in the middle of a tug of war that threatens to tear her apart. The only thing that's holding her together is Noah. Her friend, her childhood crush, the one person in the house that was ever able to gain her trust. As secrets are unraveled and the war inside of her heart intensifies, so does the danger that she's put in. Sometimes it's not so easy to differentiate between good and evil. Especially when it involves family, and her heart.
