And despite his friends, who bully relentlessly, he has a heart of gold. And the guilt he carries with his friends' actions takes a toll every day. And for this, he feels kind of lonely. He feels like the life he is living belongs to someone else, not him. It all feels wrong. He wants to live a life with more...purpose.

When an unforeseen, violent event draws them together, they form a connection that no one in their lives-not even them-saw coming. Will Mike and El be exactly what the other needs? Or will their social standings keep them apart?
