...she heard a terrifyingly familiar laugh echo around her. She spun around and forced her eyes open just in time to register the lights flicker. Staring at the mirror, in between flashes of light, she registered a crimson, cheshire- like grin in the mirror.
Instead of screaming, Mars found herself standing straight as an iron in front of the mirror, unable to stop herself as her own hand raised it self, matching the sprite in the mirror's movement. The creature in the mirror giggled as she waved to Mars from the other side of the mirror, and, unwillingly, Mars simultaneously pantomimed.
Then, just as suddenly as it had started, the lights flickered one last time, and she was gone.
Mars fell to the floor, gasping, waiting for herself to wake up. After about five minutes, she realized she once again could move her vocal cords, and she could move again. But, that realization came with no relief.
She realized she was not going to wake up.
