Westlake, South Carolina. Home to Brooklyn Callahan, the best latte maker on the east coast. Or so her mom tells her. She's lived in the mundane town with two stop lights her whole life, never needing more than the beach, her record player, and three coffees a day to counteract her terrible sleep schedule. Nothing interesting has ever happened to her and nothing ever will...that is, until one of the most famous, brown haired, green eyed nineteen year olds in the world waltzes into her work near closing and orders a black coffee. The ten minute exchange doesn't go very far, but with the whole summer ahead of him, Harry is determined to learn more about the first person he's met in a long time that didn't know his name. Brooklyn has only known quiet, and Harry has only known commotion. What happens when they show each other the sides of life they've been missing, overcome trials, and experience heartbreak, all while learning what love is in the process? EXCERPT: "I'm Harry." He says, and I only furrow my brow deeper. "Brooklyn." I say, even though I told him last night. "And I'm confused." "About what?" "You." "Already? We barely know each other yet." "Yet?" "I said I had the summer off." "...Congrats?" He laughs. "If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to make the most of it in your little town you call Westlake." Now I laugh. Hard. Almost a little too hard. And now I'm embarrassed. "Sorry, I just have no idea why you would subject yourself to that." I sigh. "I'd like a little bit of nothing." He says, repeating my words from last night. "I mean I guess there's nothing wrong with that...but why are you telling me this?" His gaze averts from me to the window for a few seconds before he looks back at me and shrugs his shoulders. "Don't know. Harry Styles held his breath as his blind date emerged from the car outside. Nervously he watched from his unseen position in the restaurant bar as the car door opened - and his jaw dropped, fingers tightening on the glass he held in his hand. As he stared, an incredible pair of tan, sinuous legs folded out, and petite, high-heeled feet were placed on the pavement. Black, lustrous hair tumbled down her back and he instantly wanted to know what the weight would feel like in his hands. And then she exited the vehicle, standing and facing the restaurant square on, hands nervously smoothing her dress, teeth digging into her bottom lip as she looked toward the doors with obvious indecision. Harry sucked in a sharp breath, feeling like he'd been punched in the gut. Butterflies exploded into life within him. He stood up suddenly, mouth dry. "No, you prick." He rubs harder. My whole body begins to shake. "Tell me I'm in control, Anastasia." He grips my neck harshly. "Fuck don't stop." I almost scream "Say it." "You're in control." [ COMPLETED ] "Blue." I heard a deep raspy voice that came close as I was sitting alone scanning through my laptop inside this local cafe on the island. I pulled my head up to check who it could be and saw a tall man with a long brown tousled hair, topless, tattoos almost everywhere on his body and had a blue green board shorts. He had the most perfect curls that a man can have and it makes me wonder what's his shampoo or does he even put conditioner after. I envied his long luscious locks which was slightly past his shoulders. His eyes, glued on mine, were an amazing hue of emerald green as he flashes me his dimpled smile. I looked over my shoulder and found no one there so he must be talking to me. I look back at this man who is still smiling at me. "Excuse me?" I chimed, confused about what he meant. "Blue." He repeats again and there's a way on how he said it that makes his plump lips look hot. I scoff, "I'm sorry, are we talking about colors here?" The man with green eyes chuckles breathlessly. "Your eyes, they're a lovely shade of ice blue." "Thanks." I answer dryly. "But I'm not interested." "Oh, I truly apologize. I didn't know you were into ladies." I stare at him for a while, examining his tattoos and that damn huge butterfly tattoo in the middle of his chest. I travelled my eyes back to his face and noticed his prominent jawline. "Harry. Come over tonight?" "I can't.. I was sleeping." He said, slightly annoyed that I called him up at like 3 in the morning. "Please." I rolled my eyes. I waited for a response, as I could hear shuffling at the other end of a line. "Do you want to have sex tonight?" I smiled, biting my lip. "Pleasure to." He lowly chuckled, as I yawned. "I'll be there in about ten minutes." "I'm naked under the sheets." "Maybe five, then." I could hear him moving around already, me guessing he was fumbling with his jeans before I hear him head downstairs. I smirked. "Oh and by the way." "Yeah?" He breathed out.
