Fear is defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm.
That's the only emotion you need to survive in the Glade, it keeps you alive, yet it can also be your undoing.
Surrounded by Grievers and the Maze, you can't help but feel it swallow you whole. When the Glade has a new arrival, a girl that WICKED has sent to see what would happen, only to give the Glade something that they never expected.
Hope can give people something that Fear couldn't, and when she arrives and changes all of their lives, WICKED realizes their mistake of giving them her and so they decide to do all that they can to get rid of her.
Hope can be crushed, by Fear, Fear stays with you until your last breath.
