Living away from humanity for most of her life, nine-year-old Lucky finds herself different from most monsters. Some hide in cramped dens, many hiss with forked tongues, and others bare their yellow-fanged teeth. Lucky had none of those traits, as a peculiar monster nobody else could quite understand.
Lucky was an outcast, a mistake.. but... everything changed when Lucky found a strange well in the forest.
Cody, fifteen-year-old student athlete with less than radical grades, is always on his toes nowadays. Ever since a strange well appeared in the woods behind his grandmother's backyard, unexpected phenomenons have been arising. Cody certainly wasn't expecting to find a little girl and her terrifying dog by the well.
Together, Cody and Lucky (as well as her parental guardian, surrogate chaperone) discover each other's worlds, all while investigating the powers of the wishing well.
