Becoming the school's new mat maid wasn't my first choice. In fact, it wasn't my choice at all, but when my best friend and his older brother set their minds to something, there's very little they can't convince me to do. Initially, things didn't seem too bad - doing homework, spending time with my best friend, attending wrestling matches, keeping the book, and, most importantly, watching Matteo and Maddox defeat any opponent who stands in the way of their state championship ring. That is, until Christmas Eve, when I get caught in a bit of a moment with Maddox, my best friend's older brother. Maddox has always been my friend, but does what happened at the piano change everything? And if it did, how am I supposed to tell Matteo?

Two rivals, which formed their hate for each other purely because of academic validation When a new boy Ares Sanchez starts attending Olivia's Maddox school and becomes top student without even trying, she labels him as her number one enemy. But what she doesn't know is that outside the school walls he is nothing like a 'model student'. Having to take care of his grandmother's hospital bills he engages in illegal underground boxing. After Olivia first sees Ares's beaten body and learns about his situation she offers him help "my uncle used to have a boxing career. He can turn you into a real boxer" his eyes searched through mine like he was deciding if I'm really telling the truth or not "what for?" he finally asked "so you can attend an legal match. These things have prizes with large amounts of money, it will help you pay off your debt, just let us help you" "us?" "yes, my uncle taught me all there is to know about self defence and boxing basics so I'll be helping you practice" "and what do you get out of it?" I'd hate to ask something in return but this is the only way he'll allow me to help him "you could help me with my studies" "but you're a top student" "was, until you came along. So put it this way, tutor me and make me as smart as you so I can pass the final exams as a top student and attend my dream college"
