It had been Coronation Day for Nightmare. 

The day that was supposed to be happy but all he could feel was depression and loss. 

His freedom, for one. He would never be allowed to do anything on his own anymore.
His brother, whom he loved dearly. He wouldn't be able to properly associate with him. It wasn't "proper" of a sovereign to be seen talking to someone of Dream's reputation. 

At the end of the day he just hoped Dream would forgive him.
