what happens in vegas, stays in vegas. or at least thats what they say.
las vegas, summer of '73. the age of drugs, sex, and rock and roll.
and for two young boys, the age of unsolicited romance.
unknown to them, the world starts to care once the smoke starts to fade.
love never dies, though, does it?
harry believes so.
now all he has to do is convince louis of the same.
how hard could that be?
a plot inspired by the novel "my policeman", cosmopolitan tells the story of a forbidden romance through flashbacks and present time. tired of hiding who he is from an unaccepting world, harry goes on a search for his former lover louis, only to find he is married to a woman. desperate to rekindle their fire, he makes louis relive that summer in the city of second chances.
the story will be told from two different times; 1973 and 2020, which will be indicated by the font. the flashbacks will be in italics, current time in regular. note that this is in an alternate universe where one direction never existed, but the other three boys will appear in the story. the world in 2020 is also not accepting of the lgbtq+ community like it is now in this book.

His breath rolled over my face, the faint scent of alcohol rolling up my nose. "Shut up." He growled. His short nails dug into my arm and I winced in pain. He released me, and grabbed a handful of my hair instead. I shrieked in pain as he threw me to the ground. Tears pricked my eyes and I squeezed my eyes shut. "Get up." He said. I opened my eyes, and scrambled to my feet quickly. He grabbed the front of my shirt to pull me closer, leaning down to my level. His eyes burned straight through mine. Chills went down my spine and I bit my bottom lip out of fear. "How many times do I have to tell you? You. Are. He was the stupid one in the situation and now he has to witness how a boy that loved him once with all his heart, is now giving his love to someone else. 5 boys met each other in music class, a subject for which they share a passion. They started to have this class in the very beginning of high school, the boys being 12-13 years old. They were drawn to each other like magnets, and for sure Harry and Louis who started dating the second they know the meaning of that word. And they have been dating ever since until last June, when Louis graduated High school and had to go to university in London while Harry still had another year to go. Harry broke up and after a summer full of desperate voicemails, texts and phone calls, the curly lad doesn't hear anything anymore from his ex-lover. That is until Zayn gathers the boys during next summer for a road trip around Italy. All five of them had been apart all year.
