things were supposed to be different once they escaped the maze. they were supposed to be free, and they were supposed to be far away from the cruel clutches of wckd - and they thought they were.
that is, of course, until aris, the only other member of group b that has made it to the compound alongside her, tells her about things he's been seeing in the middle of the night. she doesn't believe him until she sees it for herself.
once again, she's faced with escaping wckd, and this time, her way out is not as simple or obvious as navigating a maze. artie finds herself stuck with a group of boys she barely knows, in an unfamiliar, hostile world.
