Shut it." I snap at him. "Three months. I went there months without an incident ." I look him dead in the eye, and I can feel tears welling.

Hamish clears his throat, and we both look over to him.

"Uh, this seems like a private moment," he stares at his drink, avoiding eye contact. "But, uh, I'd like to know what just happened."

Randall looks at me, and I look back at him, a pleading look in my eye. I can't explain this right now.

Randall places a comforting hand on my back. "Callie has, uh, special abilities. You know, air, water, earth, fire. That kind of stuff." He clears his throat. "But!" He adds quickly. "She was born with them, they're not, uh, learned. Like in some secret society, type, uh, thing." He and Hamish exchange some sort of look, and Hamish gives a small nod.

"Well," Hamish says, finishing his drink. "I think that's my cue, I have a class I. Half an hour anyways." He offers me his hand to shake again. "I hope I'll be seeing more of you, Callie." He gives Randall a smirk, and let's himself out.
