this story happens a year after the FIRST HTTYD film... Astrid and Hiccup's relationship doesn't work out and they become the best of friends. The chief decides to, once and for all, conquer Scotland - Hiccup was obligated to go, despite being against it. After the vikings had secretly arrived to the country, together with toothless, Hiccup explores the area when they spot a charming young flaming-redhair lady practising her archery skills. They meet, they talk and spend time together until their parents found out before they move a step foward in their relationship... and that's, ladies and gentlemen and non-binery friends, how this story begins.

Freydis can't remember which island she originated from. She can't remember her family name. She can't recall the last time she slept peacefully. ...She was too young when the raiders stole her away - from her family, her life, her future, her home. Freydis was beaten down and preyed upon for so many years. She was their slave. She believed there was no good left in the world. Then 7 years after she was taken, a legendary dragon appeared. Black as night and jade green eyes in slits like a cat, the dragon attacked without mercy and faster than you could blink. All that was left in its wake was destruction. The only warning of attack was a quiet but sharp whistle. This dragon found Freydis in the wreckage it created. She thought that was it - she would die. Then it did something she never expected. The slits in his eyes relaxed into orbs, and he nudged her to get up with a purr in the back of his throat. He could smell her injuries and her fear, and he wanted her to get up and keep moving. Suffice it to say, Freydis and that black dragon became friends. He cared for her, and she had his back. That is, until they were shot out of the sky by a stupid Viking-want-to-be. Oh, and forgot to mention she has ice powers she can't control. Thank you, gods of Asgard. His name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. 8 years ago, he had to run away from his beloved home Berk because he became best friends with a creature that no Viking should ever become friends with: a dragon. Two years later when Hiccup doesn't write back to Astrid and her letters start coming back to her she takes it upon herself to find him. What will happen when it Hiccup finds a new group of friends? As his only son, he is next in line for the chiefdom which wouldn't be a problem, if he wasn't a runt. Viking's believe that a name is what strikes fear into your enemies. Hiccup's obviously doesn't. The name is given to those who won't survive their first winter. Those who don't belong, those who will not be any more than a burden. Hiccup isn't an exception to this. I mean, sure he survived his first winter, and the next fifteen. But he caused problems, not on purpose. Things just happened when he was around. First when he was six, and a nearby furnace blew up when he lost his temper. Then when he was eight, nine, eleven. These strange happenings kept occurring, and nothing he did helped. Everything he did, everything he tried had some way of turning back on him. For the longest time he believe that the God's cursed him.
