An angel's revenge. Or so they say. The Lycans take what they want, or should I say, WHO they want, when they want. The human population of Artemiseon lives in constant fear of being taken, never to be seen or even heard of again. Most say the Lycans are a punishment for the greed of a human king long ago. And it's no wonder many view them as a curse, for Lycans are bloodthirsty, brutish beasts with next to no morals. They are everywhere, impossible to escape from and always having the upper hand. So much for safety in numbers, the 2 million human population is no match for the few thousand Lycan's that inhabit the Island. *** Neglected, abused and pretty much unloved her entire life, Artemis is constantly haunted by the demons of her past (and present). Intrusive flashbacks and nightmares are a norm in her day to day life. Living in a world controlled by monstrous beasts, and trapped on an island where all humans are forbidden to leave, she turns to music as her way of self expression. She is loved solely by one person in her life- her best friend Jade. They both hate Lycans with a passion, so what happens they are both chosen against the odds, to be sent to the nearest pack, Alpha Ares Andino's? EXTRACT The cold stone wall grabbed at my back through my shirt, sending an icy chill down my spine. The Alpha's solid form had me pinned against it, leaving me no room to escape. I was trapped between a rock and a hard place - literally. His face was buried in the crook of my neck, noisily inhaling. Whatever it was I smelt like, he was enjoying it.
