Cailleach

The plan was that Cailleach would make it back to her kingdom by the next morning, but life is never that simple.

Cailleach, princess of Upper Dous, has lived a sheltered life, but when rescued by Prince Adrian, she is thrust into the deep end, and has to learn how to survive.

Adrian is the usual Prince Charming, and is madly in love with Cailleach, who doesn't want anything to do with him. He has to learn things too, such as accepting others' wishes.

Ransom is recruited by Cailleach and Adrian to lead them back to Upper Dous when the pair get lost. He hides a lot about himself, for unexplained reasons. He is probably the only person who doesn't have to learn anything on the trip through the woods.

The most obvious thing for everyone, though, is that in the woods, nothing is what it seems.
