When Seren was fifteen, she ran away from home and never looked back. Seren lived in the poorest section of the empire. Growing up Seren always wanted that to be different. On the fateful night, when Seren skips town, she rides a train out of the empire and begins her new life as Rowan.

Two years later Rowan finds herself missing her family and wanting to see them again. She knows they will be upset with her for leaving, but she can't bare to be away from them any longer. When Rowan decides to hop onto a cargo train and travel back to her home city, she finds that things are not the way she left them.

Rowan arrives at her old house and finds it empty and abandoned. By the way the house was left, she can tell her family didn't just move out. On the hunt to find her family, Rowan runs into a group of rebels who also have the same motive that she does. Revenge.

Can Rowan work with these other rebels in order to find her family? Can she defeat her enemies and fix the messes she created? Can she stop the empire from becoming a destroyed city?
