Thomas is just an orphan in a forest, but when an Immortal takes him away after he faints, he wakes up to find only a girl who says her name is Kara, and they somehow become friends. One day, Kara explains that she has to kill a man named Bushan Kingston who wants to destroy the world, and he will help her, and if he doesn't, she will kill him and she will rip out his guts, rip off his arms and rip off his legs. So now, he is forced to-- ahem, going to help her.
But then, are either of them what they seem?
