I've been aware for a while that despite my ramblings about Optimus and Cordelia, I haven't explored their relationship from the first movie...as in how they bonded, etc. This fic does go slightly AU as what I wanted for Lia and Optimus just didn't work with the plot of the movies. (Shattered Glass) Temptest thought she knew Optimus Prime, otherwise known as the false Prime, who stole the matrix of leadership and brought war to their planet. He was insane, sadistic, and obsessive. As a loyal Decepticon and a femme with a vendetta, Temptest knew there was no one she hated more. In another dimension, Optimus Prime, otherwise known as the passionate Autobot leader, discovers a strangle signal that leads his team to a femme who curses his name and wishes him dead. After trying to help her overcome some sort of brainwashing, Optimus realizes that the truth is more complicated than it seems. As the two of them work together, they both face their weaknesses and the many trials thrown at them by an interdimensional threat and some domestic ones. Optimus has a harsh life as the bearer of the matrix and Temptest struggles to be the symbol of freedom she once was. Alongside them, one Megatron works to protect his adopted family while the other tags along, fighting and testing them in hopes he'll find what he lost in his own dimension. The bots imagine that a terrible villain is on the prowl, but struggle to figure out who. Facing the dangers that come with the beings from the stars, the leading commander of the autobots finds himself looking at this young human in a way he has not looked at another for a very long time. Her fiery nature is a shield, one he could see through upon their first meeting. One he learns she has built around herself to protect herself from pain. As for the girl...there is more to this autobot leader than meets the eye. She slowly finds herself a new family to surround her with affection she has never had in her life.
